Appy Hour – Hispanic and Spooky Spicy Mocktails

Thanks #castandcrew for a fun class! Spooky Spicy Mocktails was hands-on, we mailed ingredients to the students

and made a Grapefruit Lager Mocktail with Ancho Simple Syrup.

Papaya Cilantro Ancho Agua Fresca

rimming both glasses with Tajin, a Mexican condiment of lime and chili

Plus a DIY project for the kids.

And Icey Hand for punch or cooler surprise

For Hispanic Appy Hour, we used the Tajin again to garnish Mango Jicama Pinxtos

Street Fruit and Veggie Cup

Then
experimented with Masa Harina to make a vegan Gordita including a
secret ingredient to make it soft…. Gorditas are famous street food in
Latin America, often filled with ground beef potato and onion. They are
deep-fried first, then stuffed.

We shook up tradition a bit by filling our Gordita Picadillo with Impossible Burger, pomegranate seeds and molasses, sweet potato, cilantro, onion, sprouts and a drizzle of good olive oil.

Great class – I love the images and color of the photo grid.

Ghouls just wanna have fun.
