I was asked to be part of the San Jose Mercury News first PopUp University, joining their Live Healthy Series.
We had an unexpected turnout for such a lovely early summer day. My talk was titled Cooking for Time, Taste, Cost and Kids. Here we are viewing a disturbing photo montage from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) on the progression of U.S. obesity rates from 1986 – 2010. See http://www.cdc.gov/
After the talk, attendees made the famous (!) Kale and Almond Butter Rollups with Craisins and got to taste Fresh Frozen Banana Icecream out of the Champion Juicer. (bananas are the only ingredient!) Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to the San Jose Mercury News!
